The 2015 Subaru Outback: For The Even Greater Outdoors

It's More Efficient, With More Cargo Room And A Bolder Look

The Subaru Outback has always been beloved by outdoor enthusiasts, but the newly designed 2015 Outback will urge them to wander farther, thanks to a copious amount of improvements. The Outback, which Subaru has always called the world's first sport/utility wagon, has been completely made over with a new look, improved cargo room, enhanced driving dynamics, and better fuel efficiency.

Although the Outback keeps the same 2.5-liter H-4, Subaru says it's been enhanced for lighter weight, improved efficiency, and quieter operation. It produces slightly more power (from 173 horses to 175), while peak torque remains at 174 lb-ft. The 3.6-liter H-6 engine that makes 256 hp also carries over, dispelling the rumor that it would be dropped in favor of the 250-hp 2.0-liter H-4 turbo from the 2014 Forester. Both engines will be paired with a CVT (six-cylinder models get a high-torque version) meaning the five-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmissions are out of the picture. Four-cylinder models also come equipped with a new active grille shutter system that helps improve efficiency.

Toyota's Bold Refresh On Camry

Almost 2,000 Changes To Perennial Best-Seller,
Including An Additional Sporty Model

Boom. Toyota spent a lot of time at the drawing board with this one. Making its debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show is the refreshed 2015 Toyota Camry, which has a new look and is packed with almost 2000 new parts to make the sedan quieter, roomier, and even a bit sportier.

To give the 2015 Camry its new look, Toyota replaced almost every body panel. The roof is the only remnant from the pre-refreshed model. Among the many changes up front are new LED daytime running lamps and the availability of full LED headlights.

Inside, passengers will find a revised dashboard, center stack, improved materials, and additional fancy contrast French stitching on higher trim levels. Aside from its new look, the 2015 Toyota Camry will have new and improved technology. Heavy smartphone users should consider the Camry's optional wireless charging system, which is similar to the one introduced in the Avalon sedan.

To improve the Camry's experience from behind the wheel, Toyota revised the electric power steering system to improve on-center feel, straight-line stability, and feedback. The automaker also installed a new two-stage brake booster to improve brake feel.
