Wall St closes higher on purchases near the end of the session

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday, as investors led a rally late in the session, extending a recent trend of shopping amid low titers.

The forward led the major indexes to near record highs, despite concerns about the growth of the property sector in China.

According to unofficial figures from closing, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 38.16 points, or 0.27 percent, at 14,127.82 units. The Standard & Poor's gained 7 points, or 0.46 percent, to 1525.20.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 12.29 points, or 0.39 percent, to 3182.03 units.
